Kentrell Harris due to go on trial in November

A Quincy man, indicted on charges that he hit an infant in his care, has pleaded Not Guilty and will go on trial this fall.

Kentrell Harris pleaded Not Guilty Wednesday at his arraignment in Adams County Circuit Court on two counts of aggravated battery to a child under 13. One of the counts is a Class X felony, with a 6 to 30 year sentence if convicted. He's set to go on trial November 5th. Harris was indicted in late May on the charges. He’s accused of hitting the child while caring for it on May 13th, and was picked up the next day. Harris's arraignment on a separate meth possession charge was delayed to September.

He’s free on $30,000 bond, and will be back in court October 10th.
