Quincy man pleads Not Guilty to murder in baby's death

Travis Wiley charged in January death, will go on trial in November

A Quincy man, charged with 1st Degree Murder in the January death of a baby, has pleaded Not Guilty and will go on trial this fall.

Travis Wiley entered that Not Guilty plea Wednesday at his arraignment in Adams County Circuit Court. He faces three counts of 1st Degree Murder and one count of Aggravated Battery to a Child, and will go on trial November 5th. Wiley was indicted on the charges in mid-July by an Adams County Grand Jury. He's accused of shaking the unidentified baby in January, causing its' death two days later at a St. Louis hospital. Adams County State’s Attorney Gary Farha announced Wiley's arrest in late June, saying it concluded a six-month investigation that started shortly after the baby’s death.

Wiley's in the Adams County Jail on 5 million dollars’ bond, and will be back in court October 10th.
