Nathan Caldwell sentenced to 18 years

A Quincy man, who pleaded Guilty to three child-porn charges, has received the sentence prosecutors asked for.

Nathan Caldwell was in Adams County Circuit Court Thursday for the conclusion of his sentencing hearing. Records show he was sentenced to 18 years in prison, the maximum time under a settlement with prosecutors. Caldwell pleaded Guilty in March to three counts of possessing Child porn, as part of that settlement. In return, four other counts, including three Class X counts involving a victim under 13, were dropped. Caldwell was indicted in November 2018 by an Adams County Grand Jury. Caldwell, who worked in a daycare run by the Church of St. Peter, was arrested after Quincy police got a tip from the Illinois Attorney General's Internet Crimes Against Children division.

He admitted having hundreds of pictures and over a dozen videos on his phone.
