Joseph Miller sentenced after pleading Guilty Friday afternoon

A Quincy man has admitted robbing the McDonald's at 13th and Broadway in late September, and is going to prison.

Joseph Miller was in Adams County Circuit Court Friday afternoon, where he pleaded Guilty to one count of Aggravated Robbery in a settlement with prosecutors. In return, charges of Robbery and meth possession were dropped. After the plea, Miller was then sentenced to 7 and a half years in prison, and also has to pay back the $212 he took from the restaurant. Miller recently told an Adams County judge that he’d waive his right to a jury. A co-defendant, Valerie Thompson is also charged with one count of Robbery, and is accused of helping Miller before and after the September 25th robbery. Prosecutors allege Thompson drove a vehicle that witnesses said Miller jumped into after the robbery.

Thompson's free on $15,000 bond, and will be in court in March.
