Quincy Public School Announces Possible Alternate Location for New Elementary

7 years, 6 months ago Kellie Mast

The Quincy Public School are looking into the corner of 48th and Columbus Rd as a possible alternate location to the ADM site.

The Quincy Public School Board is deciding whether it wants to pursue a possible new site for an elementary school on the city's northeast side.

The Board revealed at its meeting Wednesday that they are looking into an alternate site at the southeast corner of intersection of 48th Street and Columbus Road in a residential neighborhood in Quincy. The Building Committee learned that Clinard Properties Incorporated offered the roughly 17-acre site to the district late last week. Board member Richard McNay says the ADM site along Locust, between 30th and 36th Streets will now be compared with the new possible site in order for the Board to make a final decision on which site to use for the new elementary school.

The Board expects to make its final decision on which site to use the first part of next week.
