Voluntary compliance to move vehicles off Snow Emergency Routes starts at 6 PM

The City of Quincy is again asking residents to move their vehicles off Snow Emergency Routes.

The City issued a statement Friday afternoon, saying that based on its' weather forecasting service, Mayor Kyle Moore is asking those parking on snow emergency routes to voluntarily move their vehicles. The voluntary effort starts tonight at 6 PM, and continues through Saturday night at 6 PM. The voluntary effort is so the city's road crews will have enough time to get to all the streets. It's the second straight weekend where residents have been asked to move their vehicles. The City says they'll decide either later today or Saturday if a snow emergency will be declared. If it is, it would apply to the designated snow routes with blue signs, and vehicles would need to be moved. Vehicles not moved would be subject to being ticketed and/or towed once there's three inches of snow on the ground. Mayor Moore is urging everyone to drive safely, and if at all possible, avoid being out on the roads as the conditions worsen.

A map of the city's snow emergency routes is available below.
