Lori Thompson sentenced in Adams County Circuit Court Thursday

A Quincy woman, who's pleaded Guilty to two counts of Arson in a settlement with prosecutors, has been sent to prison.

Lori Thompson was in Adams County Circuit Court Thursday, where she was sentenced to a total of 7 years in prison. She'll also have to pay a 25 hundred dollar fine. Thompson pleaded Guilty in early February to two counts of Arson, as part of a settlement with prosecutors. She admitted setting fires to homes on Waters Court in 2016, and on Curved Creek Road in July 2018. Thompson was first indicted last March on five counts of Residential Arson and one count of Aggravated Arson, for allegedly setting fires to three Quincy-area homes in 2016 and 2017, including three at a home on Curved Creek Road. Thompson was indicted again last August on counts of Aggravated Arson and Residential Arson.

Two elderly women were in the home on Curved Creek last July when the fire started, but were able to get out safely.
