The state experienced above normal rainfall last week. Temperatures last week averaged 71.1 degrees, 4.9 degrees below normal. Precipitation averaged 1.81 inches statewide, 1.07 inches above normal. There were 5.4 days suitable for fieldwork for the week ending Sunday. Topsoil moisture supply was rated 5 percent very short, 23 percent short, 64 percent adequate, and 8 percent surplus. Subsoil moisture supply was rated 6 percent very short, 21 percent short, 69 percent adequate, and 4 percent surplus.

Corn in the dough stage reached 69 percent, up 14 percentage points from last week. Corn dented reached 26 percent. Corn condition was rated 2 percent very poor, 6 percent poor, 29 percent fair, 51 percent good, and 12 percent excellent.

Soybeans blooming reached 79 percent. Soybeans setting pods reached 46 percent. Soybean condition was rated 3 percent very poor, 6 percent poor, 27 percent fair, 53 percent good, and 11 percent excellent.

Cotton squaring reached 97 percent. Cotton setting bolls reached 69 percent. Cotton condition was rated 1 percent very poor, 9 percent poor, 33 percent fair, 47 percent good, and 10 percent excellent.

Rice headed was at 82 percent. Rice condition was rated 1 percent very poor, 3 percent poor, 15 percent fair, 43 percent good, and 38 percent excellent.

Pasture and range condition was rated 1 percent very poor, 5 percent poor, 42 percent fair, 50 percent good, and 2 percent excellent.
