One person hurt after Sgt. Andrew Bonsee tried to pull over vehicle
A Ralls County Sheriff's Department sergeant was involved in a two-vehicle accident Monday afternoon, in which one person was hurt.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol identifies the injured man as 20 year old Montell Strickland of Hannibal, who was a passenger in a vehicle involved in the accident, around 1:40 PM on Flint Hill Road at Route O, two miles northeast of New London. Troopers say the accident happened when Ralls County Sergeant Andrew Bonsee was trying to pull over a vehicle driven by 20 year old Austin Wittingham of Cissna Park, Illinois. A report says that Wittingham didn't pull over, and that when Wittingham tried to make a quick turn, Bonsee's cruiser ran into the back of Wittingham's vehicle.
Strickland was taken to Hannibal Regional Hospital with minor injuries.
