Tyler Lanier, 17, of Center reportedly made threat Sunday on Snapchat

A Ralls County R-II high school student is being held, accused of making a threat against the school on Snapchat.

The Ralls County Sheriff's Office identifies the student as 17-year old Tyler Lanier of Center. They say in a statement that on Sunday night, school officials called them about the threat against Mark Twain Junior-Senior High. Sheriff Gerry Dinwiddie says that students and parents immediately reported the threat to school officials. They add that other adults and a juvenile have also been interviewed as part of the investigation, which is on-going, and additional arrests are possible. Sheriff's deputies, along with New London and Center police and the Missouri State Highway Patrol were all on campus Monday morning, to provide an increased law enforcement presence at the school. Dinwiddie says that anyone with additional information about this matter is encouraged to call the Sheriff’s Office.

Lanier remains in custody, and is likely to be charged with one count of 1st Degree Making Terroristic Threats.
