Ralls County Sheriff's Office says Tracey Ray also being investigated by Auditor's Office

The former City Clerk in Center, Missouri, allegedly involved in an early-July shooting that injured the Ralls County Sheriff and the Chief Deputy, is now under investigation by the state of Missouri.

The Sheriff's Office Wednesday night released a statement, saying that the alleged shooting is now being investigated by the Missouri Attorney General's Office. A report says that on the night of July 2nd, both Sheriff Gerry Dinwiddie and Chief Deputy Ronald Haught, Jr. were struck during an incident involving Tracey Ray. The incident happened near Spencer Creek, after Ray allegedly confronted Dinwiddie and Haught with a firearm. The AG's office could bring charges of assault against a Law Enforcement Officer against Ray. Dinwiddie also says that an investigation of alleged embezzled city funds by Ray is being handled by the Missouri State Auditor’s Office, along with the FBI. Once that investigation is finished, the results will also be referred to the AG's office.

Ray was fired by the Center City Council the night after the shooting.
