Last of three debates will be televised state-wide
The two main candidates for Illinois Governor will hold a televised debate this October in Quincy.
The campaign for Democratic nominee J.B. Pritzker announced Thursday that a debate, to be televised state-wide, will be held October 11th at WGEM-TV. The debate, co-sponsored by the Illinois Broadcasters Association, will be the last of three televised debates between Pritzker and Republican incumbent Bruce Rauner. Both candidates will almost surely bring up the three-year saga over Legionnaires' Disease at the Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy. Rauner will likely point to his record of improvements to the Home's water system, including a recent announcement of $3 million in state money to help the City of Quincy dig a new aquifer well. Pritzker will likely point to the slow initial response by the Rauner Administration in its handling of the crisis in 2015
The other two debates are set for September 20th and October 3rd, and both will be held in Chicago.
