Facing several charges from February incident that locked down Blessing Hospital
A Quincy man, indicted in March on six counts over an alleged incident that caused Blessing Hospital to be locked-down in late February, will go on trial in December.
Robert Sparks was in Adams County Circuit Court Wednesday for a status hearing. Court records show that a two-day bench trial for Sparks will be held starting December 13th. Sparks waived his right to a jury in June on counts of Aggravated Domestic Violence, Domestic Battery, Aggravated DUI, Aggravated Fleeing and both Felony and misdemeanor Aggravated Assault. Sparks was arrested in late February after a high-speed chase on 30th Street that ended in the parking lot of Knapheide Manufacturing's headquarters. The incident started earlier that morning at a home in the 500 block of North 22nd, where a woman had been battered. Prosecutors say the battering happened four days before.
Sparks is in the Adams County Jail on $1 million bond, and will be back in court November 7th.
