The Illinois State Police districts in Macomb and Pittsfield are losing their commanding officer.

The ISP announced Monday that Commander Lt. Glen Schwartz will retire, effective August 1st. Schwartz currently leads the Illinois State Police District 14 office in Macomb, and the District 20 office in Pittsfield. He's done so since last October, and has been with the State Police since 1990.

The ISP says Schwartz will continue as an Associate Faculty member at Western Illinois University, in their Law Enforcement and Justice Administration program.
