Could get up to five years in prison when sentenced April 30th
A Quincy man has admitted attacking a Quincy University friar on campus in April 2017.
George Scott was in Adams County Circuit Court Wednesday for a hearing on two counts of Aggravated Battery. At that hearing, Scott pleaded Guilty to one count of Aggravated Battery in a Public Place, in a settlement with prosecutors. In return, a second count of Aggravated Battery was dropped. Last month, Scott said he'd waive his right to a jury, which canceled a planned February 5th trial. Scott admitted going into Brenner Library last April, dressed only in his underwear, and when confronted by the friar, allegedly attacked him with a stick.
Scott will be sentenced April 30th.
