Back in the Big Six after 2 years at Jacksonville
Monday night the Moline school board confirmed Sean Taylor as the new head basketball coach for the Maroons, Taylor replaces Jeff Schimmel who was dismissed in March. He’ll teach social studies and take over a program that last won a regional in 2011 and a Conference championship in 2009.
Taylor, who coached Quincy High for 11 seasons, leaves Jacksonville where he led the Crimson program to a share of the Central State 8 Conference championship this past season. His Shelbyville team won the IHSA Class A State Title in 1996. Taylor was inducted into the IBCA Hall of Fame in 2012.
