17 year old male arrested.

A 17 year old man has been arrested after shots were fired in a Burlington, Iowa neighborhood.

Burlington Police received a report of shots being fired in the 2200 block of Flint Hills Drive Thursday. An investigation revealed a single male was walking eastbound on Flint Hills when he encountered a resident of the street who was exiting a vehicle. The man walking reached into a bag he was carrying and retrieved a handgun, firing toward the man exiting his vehicle. The individual then turned and fired the gun at a separate group of people who were standing on an adjacent corner and looked in that direction when they heard the first shots. The suspect then fled from the scene. None of the victims were hit by any of the shots, but two houses in the area were struck by bullets.

Officers located the suspect in the area of the 1400 block of Washington, where a foot pursuit led to the recovery of the discarded weapon and the arrest of the 17 year old male. He is charged with 2 counts of Intimidation and is in the Des Moines County Correctional Center awaiting appearance.
