Six arrested in Hannibal in prescription drug fraud

People had traveled from Florida and Ohio to obtain Oxycodone and Xanax

Hannibal police say six people have been arrested, after they traveled to America's Hometown to try and fraudulently get prescription drugs from a pharmacy. 

Police said in a statement Thursday that officers with its' ACES unit were staking out Maxwell Pharmacy in the 800 block of Church Street Wednesday morning, after learning from employees that several people had been traveling from Florida to Hannibal to fraudulently fill prescriptions for Xanax and Oxycodone. Officers saw a woman in the pharmacy trying to have a prescription filled, and three men in a car parked outside. A search of the vehicle found a loaded firearm, reported stolen from Ohio, and prescription pills that were filled in Bowling Green Missouri. 73 year old James Harless and 36 year old Bobbie Williams, both of Columbus Ohio, 49 year old David Swisher of Tampa Florida, and 48 year old Norman Ball of Seminole, Florida were all arrested on charges including Possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, unlawful use of a weapon, and receiving stolen property. After their arrests, police learned that two more people were involved. Later that afternoon, 38 year old Christopher Ingram and 47 year old Laura Ingram, both of Grove City, Ohio, were picked up after they went to Maxwell Pharmacy to try and get more prescription pills. They're both charged with Fraudulently Attempting to Obtain a Controlled Substance.

All six are in the Marion County Jail, and police say more arrests are possible.
