Justin Woodson could get 10 years in Federal prison when he's sentenced in March

One of two men, accused of smuggling crack cocaine from Texas to Hannibal then selling it in an open-air market, has pleaded Guilty in a settlement with Federal prosecutors.

A Friday statement from the U.S. Attorney's Office in St. Louis says that 33-year old Justin Woodson of St. Louis pleaded Guilty Thursday in District Court to one count of conspiracy to distribute cocaine. In return, four counts are being held in abeyance until sentencing, and three other counts were dropped. Those eight counts included four counts of cocaine distribution. The government is recommending a 10-year sentence for Woodson when he's sentenced March 22nd. He and a co-defendant, Tyrone Williams of Hannibal, were both due to go on trial February 4th.

Williams is still set to be tried on 13 counts, including eight counts of cocaine distribution. Both were accused of smuggling cocaine from Texas to St. Louis, then hiring couriers to deliver the drug to Hannibal. The drug would then be converted to crack cocaine, and allegedly sold in an open-air drug market at a home in the 2000 block of Gordon Street. In all, 13 people were indicted on Federal charges in February 2017. The government says 10 of the 13 have entered Guilty pleas. Both Woodson and Williams are being held by U.S. Marshals.

Woodson's plea agreement can be seen below.
