Getting a passport photo taken should be an easy thing. For me, it never works out that way. I present myself at Walgreens where the photo clerk informs me I can't have a white sweatshirt on because I am so pale it will wash out the photo and the State Department won't accept it. Okay. I ask the clerk, "Do you have something I can drape over my shoulders?" She very nicely says she'll go looking for something. While she's gone, I notice a display of extremely tight, body hugging leggings. I hold a black and pink speckled pair - still on the hangar - up to my neck. This might work. The clerk returns with a green hoodie. Great. Except it is too small, I mean seriously too small. I try it on anyway. It will not zip. She has to wiggle me out of it. I show her the leggings. She says, "Worth a try".
For the next ten years, my passport photo will feature me with a pair of spandex leggings wrapped around my neck and shoulders.
