Three arrested after meth lab found in stolen vehicle

Authorities say three people face charges after a Sunday traffic stop led to the discovery of a shake and bake meth lab in a stolen vehicle. 

In a statement Sunday night, the West Central Illinois Task Force says its' officers, along with Adams County Sheriffs deputies and Quincy police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that was reported stolen from Hannibal. The driver, 25 year old Heather Lewis of Quincy, and her passengers, 33 year old Charles Crosby of rural Liberty and 34 year old Wendy Richie of Quincy were all arrested, after officers found the meth lab during the search of the vehicle. All three have been charged with a class X offense of Unlawful Participation in Meth Production and Unlawful Possession of Meth Manufacturing Materials.

Lewis was also charged with Unlawful Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, Obstruction of Justice, and an Adams County warrant for failure to appear on a theft case. Crosby was also charged with Methamphetamine Precursor and Adams County warrant for failure to appear on a charge of Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance. Richie faces an additional charge of Methamphetamine Precursor.

All three are in the Adams County Jail, awaiting a bond hearing.
