Thought to be responsible for four burglaries in eastern part of county

Three people face multiple burglary and theft charges, and Pike County, Illinois authorities think they've broken up a burglary ring responsible for several break-ins in late January and early February.

24 year old Kensey Mesey of Mt. Vernon, Indiana faces 10 counts, including meth possession, possession of a stolen firearm, 4 counts of Residential Burglary and 3 counts of theft. A passenger, 23 year old Majole Gentry of Murfreesboro, Tennessee and a second Mt. Vernon man, 29 year old Jonah Hargett, both face 9 similar counts. Both Pittsfield police and the Pike County Sheriff's Office say Mesey and Gentry were arrested last Monday, during a traffic stop in Pittsfield. During the stop, authorities found items recently reported as stolen after two separate burglaries in Florence and Pearl near Midway. In all, the pair were tied to four burglaries in the County, with more items recovered from Mesey's Indiana home. Hargett was later linked to the burglaries, and turned himself in. He also turned in over 30 items from his home to authorities. Authorities say that other stolen items were also recovered in Hannibal, in two seperate searches.

Mesey's in the Pike County Jail on $200,000 bond, and was due in court Tuesday. Gentry and Hargett are being held on $50,000 and $20,000 bond. They'll both have preliminary hearings February 27th.
