Four new cases of COVID-19 in Adams County

4 years ago by Scott Hardy

Health Department says 11 cases total; "now experiencing a wider spread of this disease."

The Adams County Health Department says four more people have tested positive for COVID-19, bringing the total to 10.

A statement Monday says that the three include a man in his 30s who is currently hospitalized, a woman in her 30s, a woman in her 40s and a woman in her 50s. The County's COVID-19 dashboard says that of the 11 positive cases, three are hospitalized. Test results on another 88 people are pending. The Health Department says that Adams County is "now experiencing a wider spread of this disease." They say that any exposure to public settings creates a risk of transmission, and that locations with higher traffic and higher volume pose an even greater risk of infection. The Health Department says they're advising all Adams County residents to "assume that any interaction with other individuals may lead to an exposure if social distancing is not maintained."

They add that physical distance between yourself and others is the best protection from COVID-19. Other strategies include frequently sanitizing hands and high-touch surfaces and staying home when you are ill.
