Up 18% from same time last year

A multi-national tire and wheel manufacturer with a plant in Quincy says it's first quarter sales were up by 18 per cent compared to last year.

Titan International released it's First Quarter financial information Thursday, and said that in the first three months of the year, it had net sales of over $403 million. That's up $62 million from the 1st quarter of last year. Titan President and CEO Paul Reitz said in a statement that the first quarter of the year was the strongest since the first half of 2018. He says Titan is also seeing demand in its' earthmoving and construction businesses. Reitz adds that the company thinks that Titan will continue to see stronger sales, that could even improve through this year and into 2022.

Reitz says that Titan is "taking the necessary steps" so that the company can meet existing demand along with any future customer needs.
