Facing 7 child sex charges in Virginia Beach
Virginia authorities have extradited a Quincy pastor, held in the Adams County Jail, back to Virginia Beach to face sex crime charges involving three children.
The Adams County Sheriff's Department confirmed Thursday that 57 year old Todd Shane Tomko was taken back to Virginia Beach to face seven felony charges. Tomko was picked up in late November by Quincy police on three counts of indecent liberties with a child, three counts of aggravated sexual battery and one count of cruelty. The incidents are from 2002, according to Virginia authorities. Tomko had been the pastor of Parkview Church on South 8th Street.
Before moving to Quincy, Tomko was court-martialed and forced to retire from the Marine Corps in 2016, on charges of inappropriate sexual contact with subordinates. Tomko was sentenced to 60 days' confinement and fined $10,000. He also had to resign his command of the Wounded Warrior Battalion in 2015, when those charges first surfaced.
