Chicago PD say they have new evidence after talks with Olabinjo “Ola” Osundairo and Abimbola “Abel” Osundai
Two Nigerian brothers, who attended Quincy University and who were taken into custody by Chicago police earlier this week for questioning in connection with last month's purported hate crime attack of Empire TV star Jussie Smollett, have been released without being charged.
Chicago police released the men Friday night, saying they have new evidence to investigate as a result of questioning them. A spokesman gave no details of the new evidence. Website CWB Chicago dot com identified the men as Olabinjo “Ola” Osundairo and Abimbola “Abel” Osundairo, and said that both attended Quincy University, and played football for the Hawks. The brothers attended the school from 2011 to 2014. The brothers were taken into custody Wednesday after they landed at O’Hare Airport in Chicago on a return trip from Nigeria. They flew there just hours after Smollett reported being attacked.
Both men knew Smollett after having been hired as extras on Empire.
