Gov. Mike Parson says contracts awarded to fix bridges on 61 over the 24 outer road at Taylor

Two Marion County bridges are among 14 bridges that will be replaced in the coming months, according to Missouri Governor Mike Parson.

Parson announced Friday that the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission awarded construction contracts to fix or replace 14 of the state’s poor bridges. That includes fixing the two bridges on US 61 over the Highway 24 outer road at the Taylor interchange. A press release says that the bridges are the first bids to be awarded under Governor Parson’s Focus on Bridges program, which was passed by the General Assembly in May. That program provides $50 million in state money to fix or replace 45 bridges that had already been prioritized for work.

All 45 bridges, including the two in Marion County, will be under contract by the end of the year and completed next year.
