Quincy man and Biggsville teen died in separate incidents

Two people are dead after seperate incidents Thursday in Quincy and Hancock County.

In the first incident, a Quincy man died after an industrial accident Thursday at a Quincy business. Keller says Gerding died as a result of an industrial accident at Selby Implement Company. Gerding reportedly had his leg caught under a skid steer.

In a later incident, a Henderson County, Illinois teen is dead, and two other people were seriously injured in a two vehicle crash Thursday night in Hancock County. Keller said late Friday morning that 13 year old Jonathan Lee Guyton of Biggsville was pronounced dead Thursday night at the Blessing ER as a result of the accident. which the Illinois State Police says happened around 6:15 on a county road near Hamilton. They say the driver of one of the vehicles, a 16 year old boy, lost control, skidded and went into on-coming traffic. His vehicle hit a second vehicle, driven by Cara Farris of Donnellson, Iowa. The 16 year old and Guyton, who was a passenger in his vehicle, were both flown to Blessing. Ferris was flown to an Iowa City hospital.

Autopsies will be conducted in Bloomington, Illinois, and investigations into both accidents continue.
