Joe Guzman, Susan Tresch indicted last month by Grand Jury

Quincy police say they've arrested two Quincy residents over the past week on child abuse charges, including a Quincy woman who ran a daycare in her home.

Police said Wednesday that they arrested 50-year old Joe Guzman last Friday at his home on 7 counts of Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault of a Child under 13 years of age. He was indicted on the Class X charges in late May by an Adams County Grand Jury. Police say they started investigating Guzman in February. Prosecutors say the incidents happened between 2014 and late last year. He made his first court appearance Wednesday, and is due back in court July 19th for an appearance with his lawyer. Guzman's in the Adams County Jail on 100 thousand dollars' bond. Police also said Wednesday that they arrested 65-year old Susan Tresch of Quincy on Tuesday, at her home in the 23 hundred block of Cedar. She was also indicted in late May on two counts of Aggravated Battery to a Child under 13. One is a Class X count. Police say their investigation into Tresch started in February 2018 after they and DCFS were told that a child under 13 had been injured at Tresch's home.

Tresch is free on 25 thousand dollars' bond, and will be in court June 18th.
