Unemployment down in Quincy, Adams County in November

IDES says rates also down in Western IL; Rates up in Northeast Missouri

The latest figures show that unemployment was down in both Quincy and Adams County in November.  

That's according to figures released Friday by the Illinois Department of Employment Security. They show that last month, unemployment fell a half per cent in Quincy to 3 point 1 per cent. That's down 8 tenths from last November. In Adams County, the rate fell 4 tenths, to 2 point 9 per cent. That's down 9 tenths from last year. The rate for the combined Quincy-Hannibal job market stayed unchanged at 2 point 9 per cent. Rates fell slightly in other Western Illinois counties, except in Schuyler County, which stayed unchanged at 3 point 6 per cent. The rate in Pike County rose a tenth, to 3 and a half per cent. In Northeast Missouri, unemployment rates rose in November. In Hannibal, the rate rose a half per cent to 2 point 8 per cent. In Marion County, it rose by 4 tenths, also to 2 point 8 per cent. That's 6 tenths of a per cent higher than last year. Rates rose in every Northeast Missouri county, led by a 9 tenths of a per cent hike in Monroe County, and an 8 tenths of a per cent hike in Clark County.  

In Lee County, Iowa, November's unemployment rate rose a tenth to 3 point 4 per cent.
