United Way of MT Area says they're at 81% of fund-raising goal

Hope to reach goal by May 1

The United Way of the Mark Twain Area says that while they haven't met their fund-raising goal yet, they hope to in the next few months.  

The organization held its' 68th Annual Meeting Thursday in Hannibal, and United Way Board Chair Jill Janes said that even though the Campaign Goal has not been met yet, work is still being done to achieve the goal and dollars are still coming in. A statement from the United Way says that so far, they're at 81 per cent of their goal. They say that over the coming months there are several opportunities to meet the goal, and they hope to do so by May 1st. Kevin Arthaud with Hannibal Regional Healthcare System, Shawn Brown with Hannibal Public Schools, Andrea Campbell with Hannibal Board of Public Works, Monroe County Prosecuting Attorney Talley Smith and Carl Watson President of F&M Bank and Trust Company were elected to a three year term on the United Way Board.  

Forrest Gossett was introduced as the 2020-21 Vice President of Campaign. His formal campaign duties will start in a few months.
