MoDOT says several other roads are closed due to flooding

Several roads in Northeast Missouri, including US 61 in Clark County, are closed due to the rising flood waters.

The Missouri Department of Transportation says that U.S. 61 at Alexandria in Clark County is closed, because about 3 inches of water was over the road, as of Tuesday morning. That section of 61 will see more water, and is likely to be closed into next week. Also closed due to high water Route B/ Business 61 north of Canton, Route P in southern Pike County and Routes K and V in Knox County. MoDOT says those roads should re-open by the end of the week, depending on how much rain the area gets. MoDOT Maintenance and Traffic Engineer Jennifer Hinson says it's "likely we will have to close Missouri 79 in Louisiana and south of Clarksville, as well as Route E in Saverton". She also adds that they're closely watching Missouri 79 south of Hannibal.

MoDOT recommends allowing extra travel time if detours are necessary.
