Vets Home Master Plan open house set for Thursday

Vets Home Master Plan open house set for Thursday

5 years, 5 months ago by Jim Dewey

Event set for 4-7 PM at Lippincott Hall

An open house is planned for this afternoon at the Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy to give the public a chance to see the new Campus Master Plan for the home.

The Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs says the new Master Plan will position the Quincy home as "a destination for high-quality, state-of-the-art veteran care." In addition to industry experts, over 700 members of the public from across the state directly participated in a public outreach campaign, providing insight about their hopes, visions, and desires for the future of the campus. The Master Plan, a document based on current state analysis and evaluation, will serve as the framework for the future of the veterans’ home campus and community. A team of planners, architects, engineers, historians, communication professionals, and veterans’ home leadership created the Master Plan. Those attending the open house will have a chance to review exhibit boards, provide comment and feedback, and speak directly with the project team.

The event will be held from 4 to 7 PM at Lippincott Hall at the Vets Home.
