Voting By Mail opens on Monday

8 years, 2 months ago by Jim Dewey

Adams County Clerk Chuck Venvertloh announced Thursday that ongoing objections to several Presidential Candidates have been resolved by the State Board of Elections and ballots are being prepared and voting tabulators programmed for the opening of By Mail and Early Voting which was scheduled to begin on February 4, 2016. The ballots and machines will be available February 8, 2016 – the beginning of Grace Period Registration and Voting.

“It is unfortunate that ballots will not be available prior to February 8. We are now attempting to notify the media and voters through a release, on our website and social media,” said Venvertloh. “It’s unfortunate that the compressed filing calendar for Presidential candidates and the circumstances of these objections delayed our receiving final certifications from the State Board of Elections and affected the opening of voting statewide. Since receiving final certifications are received, we have moved as quickly as possible to finalize ballots, program machines and open for voting.”
