Admitted leaving car on Hwy 24 after hitting Pulliam in June, 2015

A Camp Point man, who admitted leaving the scene of a 2015 fatal hit and run in Quincy, has been sent to prison.

22 year old Colton Walker was sentenced Wednesday by Judge Scott Larson in Adams County Circuit court to 8 years in prison. Walker pleaded Guilty in late August to one count of leaving the scene of an accident involving a death. That's after accepting a deal from prosecutors, where in return, a charge of felony Aggravated DUI was dropped. Walker admitted to leaving his car on the side of Highway 24 just north of Quincy and fleeing on foot, after hitting 62 year old Michael Pulliam while he was riding his bicycle near Spring Lake Road last June.

Pulliam later died of his injuries in Blessing Hospital.
