MoDOT says work to I-72, US 36 to last through October.

The Missouri Department of Transportation says that later this week, work will begin on a $5.5 million re-paving project in Marion County.

MoDOT said Monday that Chester Bross Construction is set to begin preparations this week on the resurfacing contract on US 36 in Marion County. Under the contract awarded last fall, three projects will be done. They include resurfacing Interstate 72 from US 61 to the Mississippi River, resurfacing the east-bound lane of US 36 from west of Monroe City to east of Route H, and resurfacing the east-bound lane of US 36 from about 2 miles east of 24/61 to US 61.

MoDOT says that weather permitting, work will begin with pavement repairs in the eastbound lane of 36 from just east of 24/61 to US 61. They expect work on the project to run through November 1st.
