Two more people died Wednesday; 221 new cases reported
Two more Adams County residents have died of COVID-19, as the spike in new cases continues unabated in the County, and the area.
The Illinois Department of Public Health said Thursday that a 173rd and 174th person in Adams County died of the virus. IDPH says that 221 new cases were reported in Adams County. That's the second highest one-day total since the start of the pandemic, only behind the 250 new cases in November 2020. There have now been around 675 new cases since Sunday.
New cases have also been reported in West Central Illinois, including 96 new cases in McDonough County, 64 new cases in Cass County, 46 new cases in Pike County, 31 new cases in Schuyler County, 22 new cases in Scott County and 11 new cases in Brown County.
