St. Charles, MO company to test for mold next week, speak to Board in August.
The Adams County Board says they will get a second opinion concerning the mold problem in the Courthouse.
The Board Tuesday night voted to approve hiring Jurgiel and Associates of St. Charles, Missouri to perform another test for mold in the Courthouse. They were contacted on Monday, after a different company said they couldn't do a test, since their Industrial Hygienist had just left. Jurgiel says that they will be able to perform the test on the Courthouse either late next week, or the following week. The results should then be sent to the County within a week. The Board has asked Jurgiel to make a report on their findings at next month's meeting. That report will include recommendations on how to proceed, based on their findings. Once the County Board gets that recommendation, then bids on actually removing the mold will be requested. There was no word on a time frame as to when the mold could be eliminated.
The County Board did approve an agreement with the newest labor union for County employees, the three members of the Sheriff's Department's Maintenance personnel. They're now a part of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, District 9.
