Conditions could improve in Northeast Missouri
The government agency that tracks drought conditions says that it's likely that drought conditions in West-Central Illinois and Lee County, Iowa will end this month, and will improve in Northeast Missouri.
The National Weather Service's Climate Prediction Center said Wednesday in its' monthly forecast that the drought will likely end in all of West-Central Illinois and Lee County, Iowa. That's due to what the Center calls heavy precipitation during late October in parts of the central Great Plains and Midwest. The Center says that Ralls, Pike and parts of Monroe Counties in Missouri will also see their drought conditions end. They add that the drought will continue for the rest of Northeast Missouri, but that those conditions will improve by the end of the month.
The Center also says that while the drought will end in Lee County, it will continue for the rest of Southeast Iowa. The weekly update on drought conditions will be released Thursday.
