Board to spend nearly $700,000 on new artificial turf and running track surface
Flinn Stadium will get a major upgrade this summer.
The Quincy Public School Board voted Wednesday night to spend over $550,000 to install a new artificial turf surface on the football and soccer field. They'll also spend $128,000 to spray a new surface on the running track at Flinn. The Board voted to change who it buys its' air conditioning from, voting to spend $2.8 million to have Peters Heating and Air Conditioning of Quincy install a new HVAC system in Building E at Quincy High School. There have been problems with the Daikin brand of HVAC units installed in the new elementary school buildings. The board also green-lighted Superintendent Dr. Todd Petit's picks for promotion. Current Athletic Director Matt McClelland will become Director of the Quincy Area Vocational Center at the end of the calendar year.
