Francis Energy gets $285,000 to build station in Huck Finn Shopping Center
The Missouri Department of Natural Resources says it's handed out over $2 million in grants to help build more electric vehicle charging stations, including one in Hannibal.
MO-DNR Thursday announced that it handed out about $2.6 million in funding to build the EV charging stations. The projects will complete Missouri’s highway charging network plan under the Volkswagen Trust. Francis Energy has been given $285,000 each to build charging stations in Hannibal and Macon, and grant money to build stations in six other Missouri cities. Francis Energy's Hannibal site is in the Huck Finn Shopping Center. In a statement, the department said it accepted applications from local governments and businesses located near specific highway intersections. The department received more than 40 applications during the most recent application period, including seven from Hannibal. An impartial scoring committee evaluated each application on the proposed project’s technical aspects and relevant business experience.
MO-DNR says that, together with over 30 other installations planned by utilities, drivers can now have confidence that a network of charging stations is available statewide.
