Will take over for out-going Kirt Malone

The Palmyra School District has announced its' new superintendent of schools.

Clark County High School Principal Jason Harper was named Friday as the new leader of Palmyra schools, starting next July. Harper was selected by the Board of Education, after they held two nights of meetings with potential candidates. Harper's been principal at Clark County since 2006. A statement from the Palmyra Board says that while at Clark County, Harper implemented the 1 to 1 technology initiative, expanded dual credit offerings in both traditional and vocational classes, and took a lead role in helping two bond issues pass. They also note that under Harper, Clark County High School has "consistently earned high grades on MSIP requirements in both academic attainment and college and career readiness standards."

Harper will take over for current Superintendent Kirt Malone, who's stepping down at the end of the school year. He's been Palmyra Superintendent since 2017.
