$25,000 and tractor donated by Beard Implement

John Wood Community College says it's received a large cash donation and a new tractor for the College's Ag facility in Pike County, Illinois.

John Wood said Wednesday that Beard Implement Company has donated $25,000 and the use of a Case IH Farmall Tractor to the JWCC Agricultural Sciences Complex. The money and tractor will be used support students’ experiential learning and research in West Central Illinois. The tractor will be used by students and faculty for crop development, research and other projects at JWCC’s Ag Education Center near Baylis. Beard Implement Company has been in business for 86 years, and is an authorized CASE IH dealer in West Central Illinois and Northeast Missouri through locations in Arenzville, Ashland, Pittsfield and Hannibal.

Beard Implement's Kyle Schumacher says that the company thinks the John Wood Ag Education Center is "a great asset to keep local agricultural education on the leading edge for current students."
