Rate stays at 42 cents per $100 E.A.V.

If you live in the John Wood Community College District, their portion of your property tax bill won't be going up.

Wednesday night, the John Wood Board voted to approve a flat tax levy rate for the upcoming year. That will keep the 2021 tax rate the same as 2020, at just over 42 cents per 100 dollars of assessed valuation. A statement from JWCC says it expects to collect just over $8.2 million, which is over $345,000 more than last year. That's due to increases in property values. The College will get the money during its' 2022-23 fiscal year.

The Board also approved a nearly $112,000 bid from Virage Simulation for a CDL Truck Driving simulator. JWCC is using some of its' federal stimulus funding for the purchase.
