La Grange woman sentenced to 15 years in child's death

Kimberly Hickman sentenced Thursday in Lewis County court

A La Grange woman, who admitted driving under the influence in August 2022 and killing a two-year old La Grange boy, will serve time in prison.

Kimberly Hickman was in Lewis County Circuit Court Thursday, where she was sentenced to 15 years in prison. Hickman pleaded Guilty in early December to one count of DUI resulting in the death of another person and one count of drug possession. She admitted hitting the boy with her SUV on the night of August 11th, 2022. The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the incident happened just before Midnight, in the 700 block of Jamison Street. A report says that Hickman was making a U-turn, when her SUV hit the boy. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Lewis County Coroner Larry Arnold.

The Highway Patrol says that after the crash, they found drugs in Hickman's SUV.
