Monroe City woman charged with meth trafficking in Adams County

Amanda Carroll charged after Wednesday traffic stop found 250 grams of meth.

A Monroe City woman faces meth trafficking charges in Adams County after her arrest earlier this week.

The Illinois State Police Thursday announced the arrest of 34-year old Amanda Carroll. The ISP says that on Tuesday, agents of the Division of Criminal Investigation, serving in the West Central Illinois Task Force, started an investigation near 6th and Harrison in Quincy. During the investigation, Quincy police made a traffic stop on a vehicle driven Carroll. During a search of her vehicle, agents found over 250 grams of meth. Carroll was charged Wednesday in Adams County with Class X counts of Meth Trafficking and Meth Delivery over 100 grams. She made her first appearance Wednesday afternoon in Adams County Circuit Court, and will have a preliminary hearing on Monday. Carroll's in the Adams County Jail on $500,000 bond.

The ISP says that the investigation is active and ongoing.
