Randall Hendricks charged in death of Matthew Wagner
A Palmyra man, accused of 2nd Degree Murder in the death of a man last year, has pleaded Not Guilty.
Randall Hendricks entered that plea Tuesday after waiving his formal arraignment in Ralls County Circuit Court. A trial date for Hendricks may be set March 5th. He's facing one count of 2nd Degree Murder in the death of Matthew Wagner of Hannibal. A probable cause statement says that Hendricks told dispatchers that Wagner jumped in front of his SUV and was pinned under it after the two had fought at Wagner's home on November 8th. Prosecutors say that physical evidence at the scene showed that Hendricks intentionally drove the vehicle over Wagner. Wagner was freed, but later died at Hannibal Regional Hospital. Hendricks told investigators that he had been dating Wagner's ex-wife for the last six years.
Hendricks is being held in the Marion County Jail without bond. If convicted, he could get anywhere from 10 years to life in prison.
