QPD Chief Adam Yates says warrant served at home on Hampshire; no arrests made in case.

Quincy police say they briefly detained someone Wednesday morning, as they continue to investigate the murder of a Quincy woman.

QPD Chief Adam Yates said in a statement that around 8:00 A.M. Wednesday, QPD detectives, officers, and Emergency Response Team members served a search warrant at a home in the 1600 block of Hampshire. Chief Yates says that the warrant is related to the ongoing investigation into Rebecca Bleifnick's death, and that as part of the warrant service, an unidentified person was temporarily detained in the 2000 block of Hampshire and released. Chief Yates says that no arrests have been made in the investigation, and that the QPD has not asked for an arrest warrant in the case. Chief Yates says that it's not unusual to serve numerous search warrants for what he calls "a variety of reasons". He also says that more information will be released when the QPD is able to do so.

Bliefnick was found dead in her home last Thursday in the 2500 block of Kentucky Road.
