Tylar Richmiller sentenced to 40 years in prison Tuesday

A Quincy man, convicted of numerous counts of child sexual assault, has been sentenced to a long prison term.

Tylar Richmiller was in Adams County Circuit Court Tuesday, where he was sentenced to a total of 40 years in prison. In April, an Adams County jury found Richmiller Guilty after deliberating for 5 hours, after a two-day trial. Richmiller was convicted on two Class X counts of Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault of a victim under 13, and two counts of Criminal Sexual Assault. He was arrested on those charges in early August, 2021 after Quincy police learned of the alleged assault. Richmiller also entered an Alford plea in May to one count of Criminal Sexual Assault. A 10-year sentence on that charge will be served as part of his overall sentence. Prosecutors say the crimes happened between 2018 and June 2021.

Richmiller could have received up to 150 years in prison. A request Tuesday for a new trial was denied.
