July 8 sentencing date set for Bruce Gilker
A Quincy man, convicted on charges he sexually assaulted a child, will be sentenced in July.
Bruce Gilker was in Adams County Circuit Court Monday, where records show a July 6th sentencing date was set. He was convicted last Wednesday after a jury deliberated for five hours. That jury found him Guilty on one Class X count of Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault, and one count of Sexual Exploitation of a child. They also found Gilker not Guilty on two other Class X counts of Criminal Sexual Assault. He was indicted in late September 2021, and was picked up on a warrant the morning of August 11th at his home in the 700 block of South 13th in Quincy. The charges stem from a four-month long investigation that started after the Adams County Sheriff's Office received a complaint about the allegations. Gilker could get from 6 to 60 years in prison when he's sentenced.
Gilker was already on two years' probation after pleading Guilty in February to one count of Intimidation, based on a July 2020 incident where he took a gun into a Camp Point nursing home and threatened an employee.
He's now in the Adams County Jail after his bond was revoked.
